Satisfy Your Sushi Cravings at Wasabi Warriors

Ask anybody who loves Japanese food what they prefer and surely, sushi will be among the list of their favorites. Sushi today comes in different varieties and sizes and offered by many Japanese restaurants in the city.

But if you're craving for sushi while strolling at the mall, you can head to Wasabi Warriors located at the 2nd floor of Abreeza Mall's Corporate Building. It's a perfect place to have your snacks or meal  before or after shopping or after a movie date, perhaps.

What makes their sushis stand out is they're made from fresh local produce. This means they tap local farmers to supply their ingredients thereby ensuring fresh sushi every day. Interestingly, their sushis are perfectly mixed and formed thanks to the robots they are using.
Yes, you read it right. They are using robots but not the ones with mechanical arms that you are familiar of. What they're using are two small machines. One that mixes the rice, vinegar and salt in a way that ensures the rice is not crushed and soggy while the other machine forms the rice and nori perfectly before the fillings are placed and the entire sushi is rolled.

Wasabi Warriors recently had its grand opening and I was fortunate to be there together with the Davao Bloggers Society members to taste their food. We were warmly accommodated by event organizer Kimmi Siu Dewar together with franchise owner Peter Wee, founder and managing director Nicola Mills and national operations manager Felicity Ball (both from Sydney, Australia).

I must admit that I'm not very fond of Japanese food but when I tasted the sushis that afternoon, I said to myself that I would eat more of this kind of food from now on. The Wasabi Warriors sushi is just perfect for me with just the right taste and the sauces are not very overpowering. You can choose from their  white rice rolls, warrior bites and packs, nigiri packs, soups and platters, among others. And when you eat at Wasabi Warriors, you can be sure to "Eat good, feel good and do good" at the same time.

About Wasabi Warriors

Many of you might think that this food outlet is owned by a Japanese based on its name. But Wasabi Warriors was actually founded in Sydney, Australia by Nicola Mills and her friend Felicity Ball. Nicola said it was Kim Siu Dewar who approached them and encouraged them to open branches first in Hong Kong and then in the Philippines.

The Wasabi Warriors in Abreeza Mall is the first branch in Mindanao. You can check their Facebook page at Wasabi Warriors Davao. Five franchise outlets are already in place in Metro Manila and more are coming.
