Kia Motors Davao Unveils The New and Bigger Picanto

Being a progressive metropolis, Davao City is often among the first to witness the launch of major products and services and these include the latest automobiles.

Kia Motors Davao recently unveiled the all-new and bigger Picanto at the Lanang showroom. The launch was done simultaneously in five key areas including Metro Manila, Cavite, Pampanga, Cebu and Davao City. Gracing the event was Mr. Tobi Ang, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Angcore Motor Company, who expressed pride and joy in unveiling the bigger and bolder Picanto. Also there to witness the launch were Columbian Autocar Corporation sales director Chut Velasquez and Kia Motors Davao sales manager Irene Pitao. The Angcore Motor Company is a Davao-based firm and the major dealer of Kia, Chevrolet and Mahindra vehicles in the city and neighboring municipalities.

While it retains its overall length, the third-generation Kia Picanto is bigger than the previous models with larger wheels as well. It also has more interior space providing more comfort to the driver and passengers, more storage space to accommodate toys and other necessities and advanced audio system with four speakers and a USB port. On the exterior, the Picanto now has bolder body lines with the signature tiger-nose grille of Kia extending the sides up to the headlights.

Unknown to some people, the Picanto is one of Kia's top-selling models worldwide. This was confirmed by Mr. Hernando Ganac Jr., Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Columbian Autocar Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Kia vehicles in the Philippines.

Ideal for young professionals and small families, the compact Picanto is very affordable. The manual costs Php625,000 while the automatic costs Php685,000.

A city car first produced by South Korean manufacturer Kia in 2004,  the Picanto was named by Top Gear magazine as "Bargain Car of the Year" in 2011. In the same year, it was awarded the "Best Small Car" by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers.
