Best Places to Enjoy the Butterflies

Butterflies are beautiful creatures and the sight of them often makes many people smile (me included). Here in Davao City, there are two places where locals and visitors can go to to enjoy them. One is the Butterfly House in Ma-a and the other is the Museo Mariposa in Malagos, Calinan.

I have been to these places years ago with my family and I'm glad to know that they have been further developed through the years.

Butterfly House 

The Butterfly House is located at River Front Drive in Ma-a before the Crocodile Park. It features not only butterflies but also plants and flowers, a fruit nursery as well as some exotic animals.

The place also has an exhibit area where visitors can learn about butterflies and their stages of transformation. A souvenir shop is available where people can purchase various items showcasing these fluttering creatures. Fruit lovers can also purchase their favorite fruit plants at the fruit nursery.

Museo de Mariposa

The Museo de Mariposa can be found inside the Malagos Garden Resort in Calinan. It has five buttefly domes and a museum where people can learn about butterflies, their importance in the environment and their metamorphosis.

Mariposa is a Spanish word for butterfly thus, the museum's name.

With daughter, Charlotte in one of the butterfly domes (incidentally, my pants also had butterfly prints).
